Vedic Astrology

A lot has been said and written on vedic astrology. I don’t want to rewrite the story. I would however like to explain the vedic astrology from a different perspective.
There are four types of Karma: Sanchit Karma, Prarabdha Karma, Agami and Vartaman Karma. As per hindu philosophy, soul doesn’t die but takes rebirth again and again. In each lifetime, soul (person) does some good things (good karma) and bad things (bad karma). Sanchit Karma is a “total karma” that keeps adding up after every lifetime. Consider bad karma as a loan and good karma as assets. We all have to repay the bad karma (sorry can’t just declare bankruptcy and get out of it or run away to another country) bit at a time. Hence, when the soul takes birth, it brings some good karma (to make life less miserable) and bad karma (to repay the loan) in that lifetime. This bad karma that soul brings in the lifetime to repay is called Prarabdha. Prarabdha Karma has two sub-types - Agami (the events that are going to happen in future but in the same lifetime) and Vartaman (the events that are happening now). Vedic astrology (and also Krishnamurthy Paddhati) can predict most of the events in lifetime. Hence, look at the astrology as a tool to be mentally prepared for whats coming your way. One should look at bad events as opportunity to pay off the loan (bad karma) and opportunity to increase the assets (good karma). It doesn't mean we should do nothing to reduce malefic effects of bad events. Doing good karma can help reducing malefic effects of such events. In the lifetime, if the soul gets more assets by doing more good karma than bad karma then it goes to a higher consciousness and then the next life start at that higher consciousness. Hence, person should ALWAYS try to do more and more good karma to keep elevating soul to higher and higher level.
The planets that are labelled as “malefic ” planets such as Saturn, Mars, Sun, Rahu, Ketu, waning moon, Mercury when with natural malefic are merely helping us in paying off the debts. The “benefic” planets are there to make the life less miserable. In summary, person can not get out of bad events by performing rituals and remedies. If an event is predicted in a horoscope, then it’s going to happen...no matter how much money you spend (waste) on rituals and remedies. If it was feasible to avoid bad events by rituals and remedies, everyone would have avoided such events. The only way you can reduce the malefic nature of events is by doing good karma. The good karma is done by either performing seva (service without any expectations) to needy or donating money/goods to needy. There are certain malefic concepts in vedic astrology such as Manglik dosha and Kaal Sarpa yoga. In my experience and opinion, both concepts do not hold any merit. People should not buy into such concepts and spend ton of money on remedes. I don’t provide any “remedies” or “rituals” or “mantras” and don’t ask you to buy expensive stones.

There are several theories and philosophies in various cultures to predict the events. The litmus test to accurate predictions is whether certain theory can predict various events in twins who are born only few minutes apart. The events happening in life of twins can be drastically different and most of the astrological doctrines fail to predict these accurately. As per my knowledge and experience, only KP astrology (which is derived from vedic astrology) can predict any such events with an accuracy of minutes.
KP adopted placidus system of house division where each cusp at the beginning of a house has some unique measure in degrees - minutes unlike the Vedic concept where the cusp starts at 0 and ends at 30 degrees. The zodiac consists of 360 degrees of ecliptic path, which is further divided in 12 houses (of 30 degrees each). The zodiac is further divided into 27 divisions of 13.20 degrees each known as nakshatra or constellation or star. Each constellation is further divided into 9 equal parts which are known as subs and their ruling planet is called as sub-lord. In Vedic astrology the house and the lord give results whereas in KP, Shri Krishnamurti Ji found in his study that two or three planets in the same constellation are offering different results. This prompted him to divide the star into "Subdivisions" on the proportion of Vimshottri Dasa system. He termed these subdivision lords as "Sub Lords". The sub lord is deciding factor in all cases, Shri Krishnamurti j attached importance of sub lord of different cusps, their star deposit and so the cusp must be given their due importance in the analysis of any natal chart/horary chat as the cusp exclusively indicates the matters of that house.
Astrological Consultation

I have been practicing vedic astrology and its “brach” Krishnamurthy Paddhati (KP) astrology for quite some time now. I provide the consultation over phone, skype or in-person.
Everyone who is seeking astrological consultation MUST understand that astrology can predict DAIVA (fate) part of the person’s life but there is still KARMA (free will) that individual can exercise to reduce the malefic effects and improve results. With more and more good karma, person can reduce malefic effects. Hence, for example, if person’s patrika is not good for business, that doesn't mean that person will surely fail in business. It means it that person may have to do much more hard work (karma) to succeed than a person whose patrika has stronger daiva for running a successful business. I may be over simplifying this but I hope you understand the bottom line.
When you contact me for astrological consultation, let me know if you are a student or going through economic hardship so that I can waive/reduce your consultation fees. One consultation typically run for 30-45 min.
I provide the predictions “as is”. I don’t sugar-coat or I don’t skip bad part and provide only good part.
Dr. Gokhale.
